Ministry plans to consider freezing price for medical masks
MOSCOW, Feb 12 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Healthcare Ministry plans to consider freezing prices for medical face masks, Deputy Minister Dmitry Kostennikov said at a news conference on Wednesday.
“These can be similar measures, as already encompassed in the legislation, in order to ensure the availability of necessary food in case of emergencies, disasters. When the government has an opportunity to take emergency measures for 90 days in order to fix prices for a certain type of product. We will discuss all options for responding to this situation and together with our colleagues we will take appropriate measures,” he said.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service said earlier in February that it registered growth of retail prices for medical face masks almost in all regions in January and is ready to take very tough measures in case of abuse by producers and wholesalers.
